Travelling to Alfesta 2027

For many Alfisti, Alfesta is about more than simply arriving at the venue - it's about the journey that brings everyone together.

For Western Australian members, the trip to Alfesta 2027 will often be a relaxed drive south from Perth or other parts of the state, following the coast to Busselton on the shores of beautiful Geographe Bay.

For interstate visitors, however, the journey may be a much bigger adventure.

Western Australia sits on the far side of the continent for most Alfesta travellers, and reaching Busselton may involve crossing the country by road, flying across it, or combining several travel options. However you choose to make the trip, planning the journey is all part of the Alfesta experience.

For those who decide to drive, the journey across the Nullarbor Plain is widely regarded as one of Australia's great motoring adventures. Vast landscapes, endless horizons and the sense of travelling across an entire continent make it a trip many motorists remember for a lifetime.

Some Alfisti are already planning extended road trips across South Australia and Western Australia, turning the drive to Alfesta into a holiday in its own right. Others may prefer to travel more directly to Western Australia and spend additional time exploring the region before or after the event.

However you choose to get here, the journey is part of the story - and we look forward to welcoming Alfisti from across Australia to Western Australia in 2027.

Across the Nullarbor

One of Australia's Great Alfa Drives

For those who choose to drive to Alfesta 2027 from the eastern states, the journey across the Nullarbor Plain is an experience in itself.

Stretching between South Australia and Western Australia, the Nullarbor offers vast horizons, quiet roads and a sense of scale found in very few places in the world. The famous 90 Mile Straight, Australia's longest stretch of straight road, is a memorable milestone for many drivers making the crossing.

For generations of motorists, travelling the Nullarbor has been a rite of passage - a journey that turns a simple trip into a genuine adventure.

For Alfisti making the journey west, the experience can be even more special. Many choose to travel in small groups, sharing the drive, the scenery and the stories along the way.

By the time they arrive in Busselton, they haven't just travelled to Alfesta - they've crossed a continent to get there.

Ways to Travel to Alfesta 2027

Over the years, Alfesta participants have found many different ways to make the journey work for them.

Some will choose to drive their Alfa Romeo across the country and enjoy the full cross-continental adventure. Others may combine driving, rail travel and vehicle transport so they can still enjoy their Alfa Romeo during the weekend without needing to undertake the entire return journey by road.

Some of the most common travel options include:

Drive both ways

For some enthusiasts, the ultimate Alfesta adventure is driving across the Nullarbor and returning the same way. The journey itself becomes part of the experience, often with groups of Alfisti travelling together across the country.

Drive west, transport the car home

Another option is to enjoy the road trip to Western Australia, then send the car home afterwards by rail or vehicle transporter while returning home by air or rail.

Transport the car both ways

Some participants choose to transport their Alfa Romeo to Western Australia and back again, allowing them to fly to Perth while still having their car available for the weekend's drives and activities.

Combine road and rail

The Indian Pacific rail journey between the eastern states and Perth offers another memorable way to cross the country. Some Alfisti combine the train journey with vehicle transport.

Flying to Busselton

Direct flights now operate between Sydney, Melbourne and Busselton–Margaret River Airport, making it easier than ever for interstate Alfisti to attend Alfesta in Western Australia.

The airport is located just 10 minutes from Busselton town centre, with car hire available on arrival.

Fly and borrow a car

Some interstate visitors may prefer to fly to Perth and borrow a vehicle from a Western Australian Alfa Romeo club member - a long-standing Alfesta tradition that allows visitors to participate in the driving events without transporting their own car across the country.

Planning the Journey

If you are considering travelling to Alfesta from interstate, a little planning can make the journey even more enjoyable.

Some helpful suggestions include:

• Allow extra time to enjoy the journey rather than rushing the drive
 • Book accommodation early when travelling through regional areas
 • Consider travelling with fellow Alfisti where possible
 • Ensure your Alfa Romeo is serviced and ready for long distances
 • Plan fuel stops carefully when travelling across remote areas

Western Australia rewards those who take their time, and many visitors choose to extend their stay to explore the region's coastline, wineries and national parks.

A Journey Worth Making

For Western Australian members, Alfesta 2027 will be an opportunity to welcome Alfisti from across the country and showcase the roads, scenery and hospitality of the west.

For interstate visitors, it may be the perfect excuse to finally make the journey across Australia.

However you choose to travel - by road, rail or air - we look forward to welcoming you to Busselton for Alfesta 2027.
